The American Adventure

U.S. Pavilion, EPCOT

This show tells the story of American history, from the sailing of the Mayflower in 1620, to the present day - four hundred years of history in just thirty minutes! The attraction is one of the most technologically complex shows in any Disney Park, as the entire cast is made up of audio-animatronics, all programmed to give perfect portrayals of different historical figures 14 times a day. With scenes depicting the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and Great Depression, The American Adventure covers some of the most monumental events in the nation's history, whilst giving voice to such American legends as Benjamin Franklin, Mark Twain, Frederick Douglass, and Chief Joseph.

The American Adventure depicts the Civil War as a tragedy that pitted brother against brother. Sadly, this depiction of the conflict is not just dramatic license. For some families, the war really did cause brothers to march into battle as enemies. Such is the story of James and Alexander Campbell...
